Mobility Plus is a family-owned and operated business, specializing in modifying vehicles for the handicapped, and dedicated to the personal service that should be expected for these products and services.

The Mobility Plus staff believes their role is to provide the customer with all of the information needed to make a well-informed decision regarding vehicle modifications and equipment that will fit their life style, and family and professional needs.

Mobility Plus follows the highest industry standards for vehicle modifications and is a certified vendor for Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services and the Veterans Administration. Likewise, Mobility Plus has attained the highest level of certification from the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) QAP quality assurance program.

Mobility Plus was founded in 1987 by Gene and Sue Terry. When Gene became disabled in 1984 and had his first wheelchair accessible van built, the feeling of independence it gave him was instrumental in his return to an active meaningful life. His background in sales, his newly acquired personal experience with wheelchairs, scooters, accessible vehicle modifications, and adaptive driving equipment led him and his bride to establish Independence Vans of Texas, later to be renamed Mobility Plus.

This beginning by a man in a wheelchair established the philosophy of a business that provides its customers with helpful, efficient, cost effective, high quality solutions to mobility problems. No gimmicks! No selling techniques! Just honest, open availability of information on products from the leading manufacturers in the industry.
